"I don’t see an image. I see shapes, I see shadows, I see texture, I see color, I see spacing, and I see angles. I see beyond what I’m looking at through the camera eye. I think every photographer sees things differently. As a fly fishing guide and enthusiast in Montana and the Bahamas I quickly realized how easy it was for me to see fish in the water. Some people look at the surface of the water and have difficulty spotting fish but I have always looked through the water to the sandy and grassy bottom of the flats of the Bahamas and to the rocky beds of the rivers out west. I hope my perception of what an image is to me has you doing a double take, has you thinking, and has you enjoying my work enough to return for another look."
